Some penguins crossing the road. Because we all have to adapt to the modern world, right?
Today I did what could be called a little experiment.
Instead of going back to sleep when my boyfriend left for work (he wakes up at 6:15 so it is very hard to resist) I got up and decided to make the most of the day.
A lot of people will think that a tire becoming animated and going around blowing up people’s heads absurd, but there are already many popular films that anthropomorphise inanimate objects-Toy Story or Beauty and the Beast as examples. Most people are able to accept an inanimate object as a character in a film. Rubber has gone one further and given life to an object without face or body-the fact that they have been able to convey an object’s emotions without facial expressions or body language is brilliant. You have to pay close attention to the object as the only clue to it’s inner feelings are it’s actions. Generally people do not look that deeply, even though the information is there, most people do not see it, so the point of this film is lost on many.
I thought this film was literally genius-it states from the start that everything happens in this film for ‘no reason’ but why would you believe that? It is a film after all, it’s not telling you a true story…
